Doozie is the brand new training hub for special needs in West Sussex. Specialising in communication through the arts for children with SLD, PMLD, ASD.
We run Inset days, Twilight sessions and one day open courses.
Doozie courses are for teachers, classroom assistants, therapists, key workers and parents who work with children, young people or adults with SLD, PMLD, ASD, MSI or ADHD.
We offer a range of exciting and creative courses. Each multi-sensory course looks at how creativity can be used to help children interact, engage and communicate through a different art from.
All of our tutors are exceptional practitioners and experienced trainers. Many have published books on their subjects and have excellent reputation in the world of special needs.
Music, Dance, Massage, Drama, Art and Story are expressive arts which transcend formal, spoken language therefore by-passing the need for cognitive processing. Experienced at an emotional, intuitive level, these art forms are accessible to everyone irrespective of ability.
By using the creative arts as a vehicle through which to engage and connect, a door can be opened so both participants can enter into a unique world of communicating, sharing and enjoying.
