    Kathryn Crosby

     

    Kathryn has been teaching children with SLD and PMLD for 25 years, and still teaches music, drama and storytelling 2 days  a week in her local special school.

     

    Specialising in developing communication skills through music, drama, storytelling, and massage, Kathryn has earned a reputation for being honest, funny and realistic! 

    ​

    Working  as a trainer, Kathryn offers participants a treasure box of new ideas, tips, theory and strategies  to enhance their knowledge and rejuvenate their classroom practice.

    ​

    Always over subscribed, her courses are fun, compassionate and transforming. Her trainings are all developed from everyday experience and realistic expectations of trying to work some magic in an SLD/PMLD classroom.

    ​

    After becoming a Massage in Schools instructor, Kathryn went on to become an international trainer for the Massage in Schools Programme. She also holds qualifications in Infant massage, massage for people living with dementia and is a qualified baby and children's yoga instructor.

     

    Kathryn has regularly been asked to speak at international and national special needs conferences, as well as delivering courses for Flo Longhorn, Equals, The Bridge, and a multitude of special schools, colleges and organisations up and down the country. Her training courses and Inset days previously went under the name CREATE. Locally, she ran and developed the special needs provision for Chichester Festival Theatre, founded Hazardous Youth Theatre, was lead practitioner on the Aiming high Theatre project

    ( CFT ) and ran the Burglar Bill  drama project for Chichester Downs Syndrome group through ShortBreaks.

    Kathryn lives by the beach, just outside Chichester, West Sussex. She has 3 children, 1 husband, 4 chickens and a 2CV in her life.
    Walking along the beach, drinking good coffee and wrestling with her accordion are on her daily to do list.
