Jo has extensive experience working in Community Dance focusing particularly on Dance and Disability. She worked for Blue Apple Theatre (a Leading Inclusive Theatre Company based in Hampshire) for five years as choreographer and dance teacher. The role involved teaching weekly dance sessions/workshops for young people with a range of disabilities. Her role at Blue Apple also involved choreographing many full company productions at different theatres and also touring performances with a learning disabled cast. She also has experience of leading dance workshops/sessions across Hampshire to a wide age range and ability.
As well as her dance experience, Jo has also worked in SEN education for the last 10 years working with students with a wide range of learning needs including ASD. Her experience is drawn from both her own dance training/education and teaching and her actual experience of supporting students in an SEN classroom environment. She has also ran and managed a youth club for teenagers with disabilities through the charity organisation called KIDS.
Jo is also a qualified Exercise to Music instructor and enjoys teaching dance fitness classes to all. She is also enjoying being a mum to her two year old Hugo and loves family time with him and her husband!
